Neurodivergence Consulting

Supporting Students, Families, and Adults in Colorado’s Front Range

We are your partner in creating transformational outcomes— in learning and for life.

My name is Erin De Assis. I have spent my career as a special education teacher. It has been my honor to serve so many students and their families in that time. In recent years, I’ve also worked in team leadership roles, improving processes for student support for IEPs, 504s, and effective interventions.

My life experiences in these positions and as a parent have shaped the foundation of CSE’s mission to support the neurodivergent experience.

Given that 15-20% of the population has a learning or thinking difference, like ADHD, autism, or dyslexia (theNDalliance.org), I work with a sense of urgency to ensure students, families, and adults have access to the information and resources essential for them to unfold their lives in brilliant ways.

Leveraging decades of special education experience with the latest research on neurodivergence and the nervous system, our mission is to provide intuitive support and creative strategies designed to your unique needs and situation.

Why does CSE provide services for students, families, AND adults?

Because the students of today are just as important as the students of yesterday.

My career in special education has revealed the major gaps that parents face in raising their neurodivergent children to thrive, at school, at home, and in life.

Just as much, today’s neurodivergent adults (many of whom are parents themselves) are trying to navigate life’s demands, often having experienced exclusion and insufficient K-12 support in their own schooling. Adding to the difficulty, misinformation and societal stereotypes persist.

These realities are at the heart of my commitment to support the full continuum of the neurodivergent experience— children to adults. In their own unique ways, they all need and deserve accurate information about their neurodivergent condition, effective strategies and skill-building, and deep affirmation of their talents, brilliance, and vision for their lives.

Our services align three key components for neurodivergent success.

Knowledge

We provide education, awareness, and information about neurodivergent conditions based on the latest neuroscience research. This is particularly important given the amount of misinformation and assumptions filling the conversation landscape right now. It is essential to equip people with neurodivergence with resources and knowledge that empower and inspire.

Skills

When we understand how the brain and nervous system work in relation to neurodivergent conditions, we can redirect our energies to transform our lives. A central part of that is learning strategies for regulating the nervous system. A regulated nervous system has the energy and resources to focus on and attend to important information, learn new skills, and engage in complex and curious activities. This is a game-changer for neurodivergence at any age! We provide strategies and coaching that build these kinds of skills, shift habits, and strengthen routines.

Vision

When we combine knowledge and skills, we can create a vision for the future. Using strength and asset-based planning routines, CSE is your partner in designing learning and life opportunities, fueled by purpose, passion, and the inspiration of your lived experiences.

What Makes Creative Systems for Education Different

Relationships

Relationships and collaboration form an invisible network of strength, inspiration, and synergy. CSE’s primary focus and investment is in relationships — forming strong partnerships and acknowledging the unique contributions of each person.

Attention to Detail

In order to design transformational systems and solutions, we must first invest in carefully looking through the details of the current situation. CSE utilizes a lens of curiosity, encouraging dialogue that includes identifying assets and areas of challenge, so all involved experience a sense of value and opportunity to improve outcomes.

Agency

Having a sense of agency is crucial, no matter our age or stage in life. Adults and children benefit greatly from the freedom, expression, and influence that come with the opportunity of agency. CSE designs all of its systems around this fundamental right.
